2. Bake something. Cookies and brownies are my favourite! Donna Hay (Molten Chocolate Chunk Brownie) and Tanya Burr (the Best Chocolate Cookies EVER) hold some of the greatest recipes I know to date.
3. Start watching a new TV show. Yes, you might’ve watched Orange is the New Black on repeat for the last few weeks, but it’s time to move on. I know we’re all happy that Vee is dead, but let’s change it up a little. If you are blessed to have Netflix, start watching Suits or Lost. If not, buy the boxset of Friends and that will take you all throughout the long, boring holidays.
4. Start getting Christmassy! If it’s not the 25th of December yet, there is still time to decorate your house. To do this, you will need: christmas lights (lots), blue&white paper and tinsel. Cover your home in lights, tinsel and paper snowflakes.

5. Throw a party…or at least go to one. Throwing a party may be a bit difficult, although it’s worth a shot to ask mum and dad! Parties are a great chance to not only waste a bit of time, but to hang out with friends and meet new people.
6. Go on a road trip. Or, if you can’t drive, convince an eligible friend or parent to take you to the big city…or the beach…or go camping!

7. Take a visit to your local pet shop and look at all the puppies, rabbits and kittens. Warning: may provoke feelings of loneliness, but also feelings of complete and utter happiness
8. Discover new music. One of my favourite things to do! Dedicate two hours to looking on Music Map and finding new artists that are similar to what you are already interested in. You never know what could be out there!
9. Read a book...or 10. There is an unlimited supply of good books out there. Get reading! The Book Thief and rereads of Harry Potter have consumed a large portion of my holidays so far.
Let’s be real. The first week of holidays - at the most - is great. Finally, time to get away from school, stay up late, sleep in and eat a whole lot of shit. But when the time comes around, you start to get bored. You might even get to the dreaded thought of completing homework. You gasp for air as you struggle to find something to do. There’s only so many times that you can watch the same show on Netflix over and over again.
Do not fear. This post will have your whole schedule full…for a few days at least.
1. It’s Summer…go for a bloody swim. In Australia, chances of the temperature reaching 45˚ are not unlikely. Find a pool, or a river, or a lake. Turn on a tap, or a sprinkler. Steal $11 from your mum’s wallet and buy a doggie-pool from PetSmart.

10. Write a blog. That’s what I’ve decided to do anyway.
